Wow what an eventful night of...catching public transport. But first, I want to congratulate Edda Hamar and her team on another very successful Undress Runways event tonight! It was amazing! Natalie Rap from Interlaced Media and I decided to go to the Undress Runways (Gold Coast) in conjunction with Surfers Paradise Festival last minute and boy, it was a journey! With major track closures and last minute hush-hush in getting everything ready, we finally made it to the show in time. The show started exactly 7pm (kudos for Undress Runways for doing that) and us girls were only late for 10 mins or so, and thank goodness the models' walk haven't started yet! It was a nice sustainable fashion show with many plants filling the room with fresh aroma and everything. I believe the wooden floors on the ground were sustainable wood as well! I saw some of my favourite designers such as EKOLUV, Anna Hulm, Fabled and True and the most new favourite of them all would be: The Great Beyond. Here are some of the favourite looks I took with my not-so-bad iphone from the designers mentioned above:
Above: The Great Beyond - a long sleeved dress: quite liking the minimalist look
"Australian fashion label The Great Beyond creates bamboo clothing for the stylish and confident woman. The Great Beyond's fashion vision is to create eco clothing through luxury staple pieces that compliment the woman and our environment. Each piece has been designed in Queensland, Australia referencing the classic styles you love and know to fit into your everyday lifestyle."
Above: Anna Hulm - Pink and many coloured printed dress
"After studying fashion design in Paris and working in London, Anna has now made Brisbane her home. Inspired by dance, her colourful designs are a perfect fusion of style and comfort. The range includes Ladies‘ dresses and tops as well as the recently launched Girls‘ dresses. Anna is happy to customize and adjust any of her pieces to fit petit and plus sizes.Whether you need a perfect dress for a party, a wedding or to take on holidays, you will surely find one to fall in love with."
Above: Fabled and True by Jaye Wolfe - a floral yellow dress - just lovely!
"FABLED AND TRUE is a sweet little eco label born of a love of vintage and days gone by. Each piece is designed and made in Brisbane, Australia using recycled, reclaimed, re-purposed or vintage fabrics
This means your F&T is not only one of a kind or one of only a few, it's a locally & ethically made, sustainable piece of vintage goodness!"
Above: EKOLUV - a three piece geometric outfit - WANT!
"EKOLUV aims to demonstrate that social and environmental integrity and profits can happily coexist. Ethics need not be compromised to be successful in the business world. We believe to be successful is to have a business founded on LOVE, LOVE for this earth and all it's beings."
